The Seattle International Film Festival hired me as their Festival Marketing Copywriter for SIFF25 after my success in the role for their 2024 festival. The theme this year was “Escape to the Reel World,” which allowed for language that revolved around both the escapism possible through film and the exploration and relaxation of vacation.

I wrote copy for landing pages, product descriptions, email newsletters, blog posts, and social media posts, as well as copyedited writing from other departments.

Welcome aboard SIFF Flight 51, destination: the Reel World. Please buckle your seatbelts and direct your attention to the silver screen for our feature presentation. This year’s Seattle International Film Festival will open at the Paramount Theatre May 15 with Four Mothers, the ideal film with which to kick off your vacation.

After we reach our destination, we’ll taxi right to our famous Opening Night Party outside the theater on 9th Ave, where you’ll get a taste of the local culture with dancing to music mixed by DJ Darek Mazzone and Orion Entertainment and complimentary drinks and bites from some of Seattle’s finest dining establishments. Guests are encouraged to dress in their celebratory best with outfits fit for the vacation of a lifetime.

Closing Night Event Blog Post

You’ve seen raw, natural beauty and feats of human ingenuity, sampled the cuisines of far off and even otherworldly cultures, heard language and song from across the globe and beyond. Join us Saturday, May 24, for the screening of our Closing Night Film, Sorry, Baby, at SIFF Cinema Downtown. This nonlinear, seriocomic story follows an English professor’s complicated path toward healing after a visit with a friend from her past dredges up unresolved trauma.

After the film, we’ll head over to MOHAI for our spectacular Closing Night Party, the ideal conclusion to your silver screen adventure. Delight in complimentary drinks and hors d’oeuvres, groove to dance music mixed by DJ Paco, model your Reel World suntan at our themed photo booth, and come with extra room saved in your suitcase because you might just win some marvelous mementos from our fundraising raffle.
